Update 8 - 1 month in Oslo

We’ve been getting out and about around Oslo on the weekends. So far we’ve caught the train to Sognsvann Lake, another one to the old medievil town of Fredrikstad and wandered amongst the amazing scultures in Vigeland Park…

Having drinks with Chad and Eda after work...10% belgium beer...yum!Hanging out after work in our kitchen...A couple of weeks ago we caught the train to Sognsvann where goregous lakes and forest awaited our arrival!It's a popular spot for walking.We ventured into the forest...would we make it out?Oh look...another lake!Yep, it's a lake alright.We decided to sit by the lake and ponder what is...what has been...what could be...and do we need to head back for the toilet yet?Our dorky selves...The view from the rock.Yay!Eating pizza bought from a friendly guy at a little kiosk.Hotdogs...norwegian style!One evening after work we walked to Vigeland Park to check out the sculptures.Can you see Dan hiding in the leaves?We found it!The sculptures were carved out of stone and there were lots of em!One even looked a bit like Dan.Piles of leaves, piles of bodies.I wanna see!They were very emotive and great to wander around.We walked home that night through the dark streets of Oslo...keeping our eyes peeled for wolverines.Like I already said...some kewl sculptures :)We walked home past this restaurant.One Friday after work we went in search of a sushi place we'd been told about. And we found it! YUM!Here is the only place you can buy alcohol other than beer from to take home. We made it there at 2.59pm last Saturday with 1 minute to spare!We caught a train just over an hour to Fredrikstad which has an old medievil town still there.Catching the ferry across the river to the town.Looking back at the newer town...This thing was big.Walking around the cobbled stone streets...I left Dan here and went for a walk.The day before we both bought beanies :)This is the old moat.More tunnel shots...Ta da! The sun came out for the rest of the day!We wandered the streets looking for a place to eat lunch.And found this cute cafe that served the most amazing tuna and salmon focacias!The old drawbridge...which was rebuilt sometime for some reason :)Cemetery + electricity = zombies!Norwegian style houses...altho in Oslo there are a lot of apartments too.We walked over a large bridge to get a good view.We're still getting used to people driving on the wrong side of the road. Someone should tell them!Walking around the newer part of Fredrikstad...I just liked this photo :)A common site around here.After a few hours of eating, walking and relaxing we headed home.Via the train.Back in Oslo...Enjoying our Salmon. We've been watching mostly the National Geographic channel and Seinfeld on TV.Catching the train home from work. The trip takes about 20 mins and we catch 2 trains 1 stop each :)
