Update 11 - A white Xmas

One week to Christmas and it’s snowing again…yay! It’s looking like a white Christmas for us!

Here’s what we’ve been up to in merry old Oslo of late. First some movies (cos i know you luv em). Complete with sound (not necessarily good sound, but sound nonetheless!)…

Out for drinks again one crazy 'Thursday' (any weeknight drinking is strange for Tibi...but he's willing to give it a go)Dan checks out the 'snoos' that people put in their mouths around here. Looks about as appertising as a cigarette to me.I think Thursday night drinking was making Tibi a little crazy!Here's one of our favourite restaurants so far. With the price of food we don't eat out nearly as much but this tapas place is becoming a regular Friday night thing.A ski jump in the middle of town? Kewl!Here it is during the day. Just outside the train station. We watched a couple of snowboarders go down it...it looked steep to me!A few weeks ago Dan cooked me a special dinner...aww, he's a keeper :)The main meal was salmon with a mustard/dill sauce. For dessert he made chocolate raviolli!I helped him out...it took a few hours to make these!Mmm...salmonAbout once a week it's been snowing here. Yay! Snow! This time of year the sun stays low all day (well until about 3.30pm...then it's dark!). The low light is beautiful. Some days it's like a continual sunsetA pie in the face?Why the hell not? It was the first time we'd seen it covered in snow.The lake was freezing over! I can't wait to go walking on it. But I wasn't game just yet!We love hanging out in the snow (have i mentioned that?)The landscape looks so different covered in whiteIt must be after 3pm!Dan carried a huge bag of wood up the hill so we could have a fire. He had to stop every 20 metres so it took a while. So romantic :)Drinks on a Wednesday night! Our Romanian friend Tibi really couldn't believe this.This pub was awesum. Jars of eyeballs, an old style surgery under the glass floor and can you tell where the toilet is? It's fun watching people try try to find it. Iceskating in town!We wanted a bigger place to skate so after a bit of research we were told us about this place, a few stops from town.Getting the skates on without a seat was interesting...Moving wasn't too difficult...stopping was a little harder :)This is a good learning toolTibi was a professional ice skater compared to us :)It was the first time we'd skated outdoors and the sunset while we skated was amazing!Yay!Tibi tried teaching us to skate backwards...I was getting the hang of it surprisinglySee what did I tell you?The gang :)It was a fun afternoon, Markus was great value for making us larf (as you can see in the video)On the way home we went to a bar at the top of a hotel in town. There's few tall buildings so you get an amazing view from up there. This was a sunrise from a balcony at work. About 10am. The sun moved just to the right and set not too far away about 5 hrs later :)Get into it Dan...Leverpostei (liver pate is all the rage over here)A full moon at a quarter to 9 in the morning? This doesn't make me want to go to work.Last weekend we bought ourselves cross country ski's for our Christmas presents. Expect more instructional videos with these babies!Do we like cross country skiing? :)The lights in winter are great. Lots of orangey glows against blue light...really nice :)Yesterday we bought a Christmas tree from a guy down the road. We got one this size cos we didn't want to pay AUD for a big one. It was fun to decorate...and very prickly!And here's the end product. Complete with a fire. Now we're all set for Christmas! Just wish all of you could join us!
