Update 14 - Sled akshion

It’s almost impossible to film the act of sledding while you’re sledding yourself. Especially without getting frostbite when you remove your gloves on a -10 degree day! But I did manage to get a bit of footage to give you an idea of what it was like…

Around home and work

About a month ago it snowed again...Dan threw snowballs as we walked to workShovelling away the snowWalking to work was a lot like walking on cornflourThis is a marina near work. Photographing the sunset is a nice excuse for an afternoon break :)I think this was the next dayOk ok I'll share the camera ;)This area is next to our apartment. I love how different it can look each time I walk past.

Sledding down the 1950’s bobsled track

Here we are getting off the train at the top of the hill. The train was packed full of skiiers and sledders.Oslo is down there...I couldn't believe how many people were out with their sledsThe hill to start sliding down is practically at the station's doorstepAnd off they go!We walked down past the restaurant to the sled hire placeHere you can park your sled and grab a bite to eatThese girls had just fallen off their sled in front of me and were larfing histericallyThose crazy norwegians :)We got to the sled rental place and waited in lineYou see little kids getting pulled along everywhere in Oslo. So cute!Taking photos whilst waiting in line...I think the entire population of Oslo wanted to hire a sledYay! After an hour of waiting and painfully cold toes we finally aquired a bunch of sledsWoohoo! Say 'Korketrekkeneren'!We walked to the next sledding point and grabbed a quick wafflemmm wafflesOk now we're off...seeya Tibi!Dan headed straight for the cliff edge...but after that close call he seemed to get the hang of itSome parts of the hill were really steep and bumpy and then they'd peeter out into flat zones where you had to pull your sled for a bitwoohoooThere's nothing quite like sledding down a big hill in the forest with Oslo and the sunset as your backdropAt the end of the track you grab a hot chocolate from the stand and wait for the next train going back up to the topWe didn't have to wait very long until we were back at the top and ready for our next sliding adventureYou couldn't wipe the grins off their faces :)or mine!Woohoo off we go againTrygve, Tibi and Dan head towards the next sectionAnother waffle?It was the most fun we've had in the coldah...to be a kid in NorwayAvoiding everyone down the steep hills was a tricky task...here comes Tibi! Waiting for the train back upWe sled until it was dark and then we called it a dayAfter returning the sleds we called into the restaurant for a drink n dinnerAfter this meal we could've fallen asleep at the tableApparently it got down to -20 that night. All Dan and I knew was that it was REALLY cold. So we kicked snowballs home to keep warm :)

Snow’n, bowl’n & drink’n

During the next few weeks it snowed even more! Our balcony looked way kewl :)The same trees I walk past on the way to workI never thought I'd have a balcony view like this :)or this...This is where we work. It was fun to play with.Last Friday it was really warm (like 2 degrees or something) and the snow started melting.
