BBQ season…and the Dreamfall Release Party

This is the view from our balcony when we returned from our Italy/Vienna trip. The snow melted away over the next 2 weeks.Almost gone...Take note of the bare forest behind Dan...you'll see that it didn't stay bare for long!Oooo our new LCD television that is also my computer monitor!Relaxing as the weather warms up...we can use our balcony at last!A bbq with Chad, Marcus and IdaChad and Ida brought over some prawns to put on the barbieOnce the sun went behind a building it became too cold to continue sitting outside. But it was a start!Going to the Dreamfall release party (the game we worked on). Here is a Dreamfall car!And here is Rich saying 'don't go wandering over there when you're drunk'...and this would be why!The inside of the venueHere are some of the guys n gals we work with...Mats, Trygve, Maria, Frode, Øyvind and Robert.Crazy Dan, Mexican Tibi (who's really Romanian), Miya and Lee!The food was great. Especially the steak which Tibi is taking the last of!Every say 'Free drinks!'Here's the go to guy for the themed cards that entitled you to free wine, beer or spirits! The spirits cards were the hardest to get.Will, Mats, Trygve & Crazy DanYeh!This girl is the main voice actor on the Norwegian version of the game (Drømmefall).Yay Dan's first title released! Now that's something to celebrate :)After a few drinks these guys will recommend anythingSitting down for a chat...it was a fun night. Keep a look out for Dreamfall at a store near you! (I'm not sure of the release dates)Ooo our first drinks outside! Warming up at last.We even found a decent beer garden and watched Simon and his gf's gig here later that night.Mmm, overpriced wine...Hanging with the homiezBarbeque time! After the long long cold dark season, we had a couple of weeks where it averaged 24 degrees...woohoo! Barbequed in the park on Saturday...Got a bit of a tan...our skin had turned a glowing shade of white...Then we headed out to Bygdøy on Sunday...This is an old stave church. You can get closer if you pay...i'll save that for when you guys come visit and we can go together :)I couldn't believe how warm 24 degrees felt!Can you see the nudie section over the other side of the water? Hmm...maybe you don't want to!Finding a good picnic spot...This will do...time for another bbq!Yay...we're outdoors people again!Bbq'd salmon tasted awesum!You have to beware of picket fences around here.And Mexican Romanians!In a week everything started to bud, flower and turn bright green!And everyone set up tables outside...it was a mass exodus from their lounge rooms!One night we made sushi...mmm.And after 5 phone calls home (how do you open these up?!), one bandaged finger and some loss of patience, we finally made oysters kilpatrick!They have a bicycle renting system here. It costs AUS for the year and you can grab a bike from a stand and keep it for 3 hrs.

17th May - Norwegian National Day

In Norway, May the 17th is the National Day. It's a day that Norwegians celebrate their independance from Denmark (or so I think).We had smoked trout, roast beef, marinated salmon...mmm.On National Day most people dress up in costumes that represent where they grew up in Norway. So that's why Kjetil looks great here and we look like our usual bum selves.It was amazing seeing so many people dressed up in town.And their national day food of choice? Hotdogs of course!This is the last time we saw the group. We stopped to get a few photos and when we looked back there was just a sea of people dressed up!I had to stop for a photo with some military guys. It's compulsory to serve in the military here.This dog was so cute :)Yay! Our very first Norwegian National Day!This is the palace. Earlier in the day children paraded past here and the royal family waved to everyone...but we missed that.These girls were posing for a photo when i stood next to the photographer and took my own shot...they thought it was quite funny.This is one of those shots you'll see in a Norway guide book :)The graduating high school students all wear these red or blue pants at this time of year in their last 2 weeks and basically party hard before exams.?Send this one home to the folks ;)This is Karl Johans Gate. It's the main street in Oslo.AwwWe enjoyed National Day!As did most people :)

Spring!

Now do you remember the bare forest in that earlier photo? This is a month later...how nuts is that?This is how we've overcome our non existant bath problem.The other night there was a low mist. This was taken about 11.15pm at night...see how the sky is still light?It has been raining the past week but on Monday after work the sun came out and we decided to have dinner on Bygdøy.It only takes about half an hour to walk to here from work or home.We bought some chicken and relaxed with a beer :)Once the sun went behind some clouds we headed homeAnd this is from our balcony this morning! I just wanted to show you how brilliant green the view is now! Such a contrast in such a short amount of time!
